An Unexpected Turn

Sunday arvo continues to take a leisurely stroll through my memory. As mentioned in the previous post, I took advantage of a peak of sunshine to take a walk and I went wild with wet foliage.

The sun was weary from all its effort and so began to set. But I wasn't ready to go home. I was high on Vitamin D and chlorophyllic colour!

'Just one more corner,' Inner Voice pleads.

'No, no. We must be getting home. You don't know this area. It'll be dark soon. You don't have a torch and your phone is about to die,' says Reason (who, in retrospect, has the voice...and the hairdo...of Alan Partridge).

'Is that an eagle!?' shouts Inner Voice, pointing at the sky, then gleefully running around another corner while Reason stands with hands on hips, staring at the sky.

And thank goodness for that! What divine beauty had been cast! Gentle blossom on stark naked trees, tenderly held in the last light of an afternoon that by all forecasts, should've been wet.

The lesson, of course, is to allow both Inner Voice and Reason a chance to speak, but distract Reason if necessary with the call of an eagle.
